| Aussies are going well. I have the sound turned off and the CC on so I don't have to listen to the stupid comments by the commentators. Only former swimmers (Thorpe and Co) have any clue what is going on in the Pool, the other lot are yapping on about whatever.
Doing well with the rowing and so forth as well. Hope we can get a few medals in the Track and Field. | |

| I've been watching Channel 7's Olympics now that I have the new Foxtel iQ4 box and can save and do all sorts of good stuff, like fast forwarding through the bloody ads. Great to see a few GOLD medals coming our way too. Go Aussie, oi oi oi. I really don't care who wins provided it isn't the Yanks. LOL  | |

The list of those not attending the Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony tells you a lot about how Japan feels about the games.
Senior officials from major sponsors like Panasonic, Fujitsu, Asahi and a host of others will skip the ceremony.
Toyota also bailed on the event and said it won't run any TV advertisements linked to the Games in Japan "out of sensitivity to the COVID-19 situation".
Even former prime minister Shinzo Abe, who appeared at the closing ceremony of the 2016 Rio Games dressed as Mario, won't be going.
