PostSubject: Re: Even more corruption in Socialist Labor   Even more corruption in Socialist Labor EmptyFri 26 Jun 2020, 2:42 pm

Is there no end to Labor's shameful conduct ?  No doubt it is the GetUp! Terrorists again.

There needs to be guards in place at all cemeteries to ensure the practice (as is perfected in Queensland by Labor), of raising the dead does not occur on election day.

Labor lies and illegals acts ,,,nothing new move on, we will fix it up later maybe

Trouble is, it is never fixed – just keeps on keeping on.

This really shows how the Aussie “she’ll be right Mate – near enough is close enough -, like the Long march of The left -has’ so deeply infiltrated our country. Any one with half a brain should have ensured that the authorisations were accurate before the release of the corflutes.

Labor is quietly taking down corflute signs across the Eden-Monaro tilt after keen eyes noticed the signs were authorised by disgraced former boss Kaila Murnain, hoping like hell that nobody saw such a dumb move.

The public, however, are far smarter than Labor’s campaign managers and blew the whistle. Will this lose votes for the Labor candidate? Probably not!

Eden-Monaro: Labor’s Kirsty McBain caught with unauthorised campaign signs
Source: Anna Caldwell, The Daily telegraph

Labor is urgently trying to tear down a string of corflutes in its Eden-Monaro tilt which boast the authorisation of disgraced former party boss Kaila Murnain.

The Daily Telegraph was sent photos of red Labor signs, with the small print “authorised by Kaila Murnain”, including in the window of Labor candidate Kristy McBain’s office in Queanbeyan.

Others were taken in Yass and Narooma.

The photo in Ms McBain’s office window was taken on Wednesday, but by yesterday it had been removed.

A Labor spokesman last night explained that the signs were old signs which had been recycled by volunteers.

“These are old signs that are in the possession of Labor Party members and volunteers who are eager to get Kristy McBain elected as a strong local voice for Eden-Monaro,” the spokesman said.

“We are making every effort to take these signs out of circulation.”

The Commonwealth Electoral Act requires authorisation of corflutes, ads and other electoral material to include the address of a person where they are located or can be contacted.

Ms Murnain quit as general secretary of the Labor Party last October after being called before ICAC in a donations hearing.

But who cares as there is a NEW JUICY VOTES LOSING SCANDAL in the Union and Greeny and Chinese controlled Labor Party.

How long before the Labor Party is deregistered as a Political party as a matter o National Security ???

NSW Labor MP Shaoquett Moselmane's home, office raided by police
Posted 1 hour ago, updated 6m= minutes ago

NSW Labor leader Jodi McKay says raids 'dreadfully concerning'(ABC News)

Officers from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and ASIO have raided NSW Labor MP Shaoquett Moselmane's home and office in Sydney this morning.

Key points:
The Australian Federal Police and ASIO said they executed the search "as part of an ongoing investigation"
Labor is co-operating with the agencies
NSW Transport Minister Andrew Constance said he was "horrified" by the allegations
NSW Labor leader Jodi McKay confirmed she was aware of the raids, and that the party would suspend Mr Moselmane's membership.

Ms McKay described reports that Mr Moselmane's office had allegedly been infiltrated by Chinese government agents as "dreadfully concerning".

"I was advised early this morning that there had been search warrants executed on the home of Mr Moselmane," she said.

Ms McKay said suspending Mr Moselmane's membership was "the right thing to do".

In identical statements, the AFP and ASIO said they were "executing search warrants in Sydney this morning as part of an ongoing investigation".

Ms McKay said Labor was cooperating with the agencies involved.

When asked about allegations Mr Moselmane's office had been infiltrated by Chinese government agents, Ms McKay said: "It's dreadfully concerning, it's terrible."

"There is an expectation on MPs that whatever they do is in the best interest of the people in this state.

"And I would hope that every single MP in the Parliament, not just on the Labor side but the Liberal and the National party side, the crossbench, has that as the heart of the their actions as an MP."

Ms McKay said she would receive a briefing from the AFP and ASIO later today.

The AFP and ASIO statements said, despite the raids, there was "no current or impending threat to community safety".

"As this investigation remains ongoing, there will be no further comment."

NSW Transport Minister Andrew Constance said he was "horrified" by the situation and urged Labor to act quickly.

"I think most Australians would just shake their head at this," he said.

"This type of investigation is so serious — we've got to see what comes of it, but there's too much smoke here and it's ultimately really incumbent upon Jodi McKay to step up."

Federal Attorney-General Christian Porter's office, which must authorise AFP warrants, was contacted for comment.

With Victoria fast falling into a basket case under the incompetent, yet rather assertive Labor Govt, and that tyrant Andrews in charge, crime is going pretty much along as it wants...especially the gang bashings, predominantly by immigrants.

The Police should have ample time on their hands to pursue this case, as they seem to doing sweet f.....l policing at the moment.

Someone once said that the only good thing to come out of Victoria was the Hume Highway!!!

Victoria the third world state in a first world country, all created by Labor.

You can do anything you like - as long as you have thousands of people, yell a lot, and hold protest banners!

Victoria has fallen under Chinese Communist Party rule. What do you expect ?

Who cares about the Labor Party, you would hope the voter decided they are on the nose, and place a worthy vote elsewhere. Teflon has been smothered on Shorten and Andrews for years, and media mates have turned a blind eye, would love to know who turned and did 60 minutes do it for the ratings only.

Love that photo!. No Bill, grimacing while staring into the distance does not denote deep contemplation and Albo? Nothing, an empty shell, a study in vacuousness, not a rational thought between the pair of them.

This corrupt behaviour is nothing new! It’s the normal ways of socialists.

The electorate has to wake up to the way our democracy & sovereignty is being eroded by by the socialist left in both major parties. When & how has the Labor party been reduced to such an unacceptable rabble siding-with Globalists, Communists, the UN & the one World Government criminals?

It started with Whitlam and has been accelerating ever since. I`ve said it before, there has not been a Labor Party in Australia since the days of Cockie Caldwell.

Is it all to do with the “corporate-style takeover” of the ALP by the Union Movement and now the Greenies and NOW the Chinese ???

Labor’s woes mount by the day

Even more corruption in Socialist Labor Labor

Labor Leader Anthony Albanese is sure to be looking over his shoulder, especially with that slippery rat Bill Shorten dodging in and out of the garbage bin, dreaming of a miracle comeback.

Some of his baggage is still in a cupboard at the Lodge in Canberra—Vinnies didn’twant it! But the ‘unpacking’ of Labor’s long-held schemes and scams are being laid bare.

Like rats in close confinement that turn on each other in vicious order, so might that be as more dirt is exposed and more hopefuls seek the poisoned chalice.

The brutal words of Victorian Labor minister Adem Somyurek were much more than political bluster.

They were a shameful display of power, a blatant perversion of the democratic process.

Captured on 100 hours of covert surveillance tapes, some aired publicly this week, Somyurek boasted of controlling two-thirds of MPs from the governing party in his state.

Read on and gasp with disbelief as you cop a full frontal of unbelievable corruption and scandal that has been racking the Union and Greeny and Chinese controlled Labor Party for years.

And just what is this Branch Stacking that is endemic in the Corrupt Union and Greeny and Chinese controlled Labor Party ?

What is the definition of branch stacking and why is it bad for Australian politics?

Eenie meeni minni mo - catch a Lefty by the toe.

What is branch stacking and how is it legal?

Media reports claim to have uncovered branch stacking on an "industrial scale" in the Victorian Labor Party.

Last night's 60 Minutes program aired footage which purports to show a senior Labor figure named Adem Somyurek allegedly branch stacking.

The politician at the centre of the allegations emphatically denies any wrongdoing.

What is branch stacking?
Branch stacking is when people are recruited into a branch of a political party to influence who is pre-selected as an election candidate.

To break it down even more, imagine there are two members of a party who want to be the official candidate for an upcoming election.

The party has to undergo a preselection process, where all the members of the party vote for the candidate they prefer.

Perhaps there are factions of the party that favour one of the members over the other, for whatever reason.

Those factions might try to recruit new members into the party, perhaps by offering to pay their membership fees, in exchange for their vote towards the favoured candidate.

Why is it a bad thing?
Branch stacking inflates membership numbers and threatens to de-legitimise the democratic preselection process.

A 2002 report by former Labor leaders Bob Hawke and Neville Wran described the practice as having a "cancerous effect" on democratic traditions.

"When membership lists are artificially inflated with large numbers of 'members' lacking commitment to the party, internal democratic processes are distorted," the report said.

It also said branch stacking was one of the most "difficult challenges" for parties to stamp out, because any attempt to prevent it could impose excessive limitations.

Is branch stacking illegal?
No, it is not illegal.

It would only be illegal in a case where any false information was provided to the Australian Electoral Commission.

This might include members using a fake address or forging signatures.

But there are party rules around membership.

Under both the ALP and LNP national constitutions, members must pay for their own membership and must live at their claimed address.

Both parties promise to take disciplinary action against any infringing member.

What cases have there been in Australian politics?
Accusations of branch stacking are not uncommon in Australian politics.

In the past few years alone, there have been several allegations:

In 2018, there were fears several branches of the Victorian Labor party had been stacked with members — many of them Somali-Australians — who would vote with a certain faction.

Federal Liberal MP Ann Sudmalis, who held the NSW seat of Gilmore, quit politics in 2018 over suspicions of branch stacking. She accused NSW MP Gareth Ward of branch stacking and undermining her preselection campaign — an allegation he denies.

And in 2017, former MP Belinda Neal was expelled from the NSW Labor Party over allegations of branch stacking in the race for preselection in Gosford, which she denies.

Corruption scandal exposes Labor Party
EDITOR, JUNE 22, 2020

Last week a scandal blew up in the face of the Australian Labor Party, claiming the scalps of three ministers and a shadow minister. Damning evidence uncovered the corrupt politics behind Daniel Andrews’ “progressive” Victorian government.

Central in this scandal is former Victorian Labor minister Adem Somyurek. He ran a ruthless and shady operation controlling power in the ALP. The scandal drew in multiple ALP figures in the Victorian, Federal and New South Wales parliaments.

Somyurek was overseeing “branch stacking” operations, signing up false members to branches of a political party to control decisions. These people usually have no real commitment and do as they are told. In many cases they are fraudulently signed up and paid for.

Branch votes decide who will run in elections and could deliver them seats in parliament, ultimately bringing power and money to those who can muster the most fake members.

Recordings showed attempts to forge signatures, use of fake addresses and paying fees for fake members. The corruption was made worse by Somyurek’s violent, sexist and homophobic language and arrogant boasts of impunity.

This type of scandal is not new to politics. There are many examples of corruption from the major pro-capitalist parties. The repulsive details of this scandal only confirm ordinary people’s rightful hatred of how “official politics” operates while millions are suffering from the recession.

Insiders admit that “branch stacking” is an open secret in the major parties. One anonymous Labor power broker told the media “much more” than a quarter of Labor’s Victorian members come from branch stacking.

Deplorable behaviour by Somyurek is not new either. He resigned from cabinet after being found bullying his staff in 2015 but was reinstated when Andrews was re-elected. Andrews referred to Somyurek as his “very good friend” at the time.

Importantly this exposes the rotten underbelly of Daniel Andrews government and shows how decayed the ALP is. The organised exposure of Somyurek, met by his vow to “bring down” more Labor politicians, says that this has opened a new round of messy internal ALP power struggles.

Reflecting the seriousness of this crisis, the ALP has gone further than just expelling Somyurek. Labor announced the suspension of members’ voting rights in Victoria. Instead the ALP’s national executive will select candidates for state and federal elections for three years.

Ironically the ALP’s national president Wayne Swan said that a solution to this crisis is “to expand membership, better democracy in the party”.

But Labor’s political corruption cannot be ‘fixed’ by reforms. It’s roots stretch back decades to the party’s total transformation into a political machine for the capitalist class.

This process started in the 1980s under Labor leaders Bob Hawke and Paul Keating. The ALP governments led by them introduced right-wing policies which boosted corporate profits at the expense of worker’s wages while undermining trade unions. Rudd and Gillard continued this.

Democratic paths within the ALP for ordinary members to challenge this transformation of the party were blocked. These processes together demoralised and disorientated thousands, ending any internal dynamism or life for working class activists in the ALP.

Decades later most ordinary people no longer see any practical difference between Labor and the Liberal-National coalition.

That’s why the ALP and many ex-workers’ parties like it around the world are empty shells, used by the big end of town as one of their options to swap in and out of power. Today the ALP is a perfect playground for power-hungry crooks like Somyurek and others.

This scandal once again highlights how urgent it is for working people to have a new political organisation of their own, worthy of support.

A new kind of organisation based on fighting for workers’ real interests would need to have genuinely democratic structures and practices that inspire ordinary people to join and be active. That could prevent it from being taken over by malicious forces.

It would need regular election of all party officials and representatives with wages capped at the average income of those working people they represent.

It would also need to rely entirely on money raised from its members and working class communities. Corporate donations would be rejected.

Ultimately this organisation would have to reject the profit-driven system of capitalism – a fundamentally corrupt and undemocratic system that put the profits of a minority over the needs of the majority.

The Decline and Fall Of Labor

Nothing to oppose with any significance, so oppose everything.

As for Albanese the Leader, he is a man awaiting the end of tenure.

Accomplished nothing, opposed everything and looking forward to a vacuum or maybe some kind of recognition that waits to unfold.

The Daniel Andrews story is only in its first chapter and one can feel the tension as the story unfolds.

As the threads of Communist China unravel thread by thread into Australian Politics and the players’ names begin to appear.

Of course the story must surely begin prior to the last Election and the parts played by Dastyari, Shorten, the bag carrier and the recipients?

Who would win the Election, what was agreed/promised and by whom?

Was Australia promised as a part of China's Road and Belt Initiative and if so by whom?

Why did Shorten refuse to address questions of policy costings but stated that ALL would be revealed 'after' the Election?

The Election he could not lose and his confidence in winning. What had Bill planned for us one wonders?

And after the 'Miracle' happened and he lost and all his plans and promises made came to nothing, we find him still there, in the Parliament and keeping tabs on what is going on.

And watching Albo gradually fall from Grace and ready to announce, one more try??

If so, we surely have little to worry about.

But the story of the Road to China will be a thriller in every way, at least for some?

Now the rot has spread to the NSW Labor Abortion.

State Opposition MP Julia Finn has resigned from Shadow Cabinet, amid Labor's deepening branch stacking controversy.

Key points:
Julia Finn was named in an internal report on branch stacking
But it made no recommendations against her
Labor leader Jodi McKay said yesterday she wouldn't sack Ms Finn

The Member for Granville stepped down from her shadow portfolio this afternoon.

Ms Finn was named in an internal investigation into branch stacking issues.

But a senior Labor MP this week told Parliament no recommendations against Ms Finn were made in the report.

In a statement, Ms Finn said she would be standing aside and urged Labor's tribunal to "urgently" deal with matters flagged in the party's internal reviews.

Even more corruption in Socialist Labor Capture

WITHDRAWN from viewing on Netflix, Gone With The Wind, then Little Britain, Faulty Towers and Chris Lilley’s TV shows with possibly others to follow.

Why?

Because they are classed as racist and should not be allowed to show or use racism as entertainment.

Extraordinary decapitation texts leaked.

Well, if you missed Channel 9’s 60 Minutes on June 14, you missed one of the best descriptions of comedy and corruption in the Victoria Labor Party and they were allowed to show that as entertainment.

They were allowed to show how people are used and paid by corrupt politicians to better the lives and fortunes of those we trust to make our lives and future better, not there by branch stacking.

The comedy was having Sam Dastyari, Labor’s ex-senator explain how the corruption worked.

They couldn’t have picked a better bloke.

Because Sam’s the man to explain it better than anyone.

But we would be naive to think it’s only the Labor Party involved in this type of corruption.

But don’t expect it soon as there’s trouble getting ink to dry in this humidity.

And we are not in calm waters in Queensland as we see our own LNP Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington giving a warning to the heavyweights in her party that she will give as good as she gets if they try to replace her.

It is a small, small world after all.

Membership-rigging exposes Australian Labor Party’s rot
By Mike Head 18 June 2020

Even more corruption in Socialist Labor Anthony-Albanese-356x500
Albo - how much longer can be last ?  Will ScoMo intervene to keep him there until the election ?

Revelations this week of “industrial-scale” branch stacking inside the Australian Labor Party (ALP) have shone a light on the advanced decay of this party, which has been the central political instrument of the ruling establishment for over a century.

A near year-long investigation by the Nine Entertainment’s TV and newspaper outlets, involving secret cameras and recordings, exposed a key ALP powerbroker in the state of Victoria, Adem Somyurek, and his staff members enrolling and paying for bulk party memberships.

The recordings show Somyurek ordering others to forge signatures and create false statements claiming that people paid for their own memberships. Reportedly, up to 4,000 of the ALP’s claimed 16,000 members in the state of Victoria have been registered this way.

Moreover, “everyone” in the ALP leadership knew that this was going on, despite the feigned shock of Victorian state Premier Daniel Andrews and federal Labor leader Anthony Albanese.

Nor was this simply a Victorian state issue. On the basis of his known membership-rigging, Somyurek had risen to become a member of the ALP’s highest body, its 21-person national executive.

Read on and be shocked and amazed at the level of anti-Australia graft, bribery, and corruption that the Labor Party is riddled with!!!!

Effluvium rises from Labor’s mausoleum of corruption
AMM 19.06.20.

The old adage, “familiarity breeds contempt”, rings true concerning the Labor Party and no greater example is their current disaster.

NSW state Labor leader Jodi McKay was given a 37-page report on branch stacking and corruption in March and yesterday said that she hadn’t read it all—she did bugger all!

She also insisted her party does not have systemic issues with branch stacking and corruption.

And now enter the “mouse that roared”!

We are supposed to believe that Labor Leader Albanese, who flops about more like a St Bernard puppy than an effective political leader, has muzzled his merry band of prevaricators lest they step in more loads of puppy poo.

Anthony Albanese has “muzzled” senior opposition colleagues and adopted Bill Shorten’s widely criticised communications strategy in a bid to control Labor messaging ahead of the crucial Eden-Monaro by-election.

But now more dirty Labor deeds expected to be revealed!!!

Labor bracing for the possible leaking of more 'damaging texts'
18/06/2020

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says he has been informed more potentially damaging text messages in relation to the Somyurek scandal could be leaked within the coming days, heaping more pressure on federal Labor leader Anthony Albanese.

I've received some information over the past couple of hours that there are some more leaked text messages to come out from Anthony Bryne, who is at the centre of this sting on Adem Somyurek," Mr Clennell said.

"If what I am told is correct, these (texts) would have real implications for Anthony Bryne's place on the Intelligence and Security Committee.

Among the exchanges, he (Bryne) disparages Kevin Rudd ... and that he disparages Kristina Keneally, the opposition's Home Affairs spokeswoman. That would be a challenge for Anthony Albanese if it is true."

The Federal Government looks set to pressure Labor to dump MP Anthony Byrne from the powerful Intelligence and Security Committee after allegations he was involved in the covert taping of Mr Somyurek.

Mr Somyurek has been sacked from the Victorian cabinet and has stepped down as a Labor MP after 60 Minutes published a series of explosive secret recordings allegedly showing he was using branch stacking to gain political power within the party.

It is not known who provided the recordings that were the catalyst for Mr Somyurek’s downfall.

Mr Clennell said the Coalition is trying to "wedge" Labor on the issue by insisting it is up to Anthony Albanese to decide whether Mr Byrne should stay on the committee or if he should step down.

"The PM has raised the stakes, saying “in the first instance” it is up to Anthony Albanese whether Byrne remains on that committee," Mr Clennell said.

"Despite this, Albanese is intending to keep Anthony Byrne on that committee."

And the excitement of the annihilation of Socialist Labor never ends. it is like watching one of those old Roman Gladiatorial fights to the DEATH.

Somyurek vows revenge on those who secretly recorded him
19/06/2020

Fresh text messages are leaked as axed Victorian Minister Adem Somyurek vows revenge on those who secretly recorded him.

Mr Somyurek said he was looking forward to the litigation process which would reveal evidence of all those involved in secret recordings which led to his sacking.

Mr Somyurek was axed from Cabinet and banned from the Labor Party for life after secret recordings revealed he allegedly masterminded branch-stacking activities in Victoria.

After it was revealed the covert recordings were made in Labor MP Anthony Byrne’s office, Mr Somyurek appears to have launched a campaign of retribution.

In text messages leaked to the media, Mr Byrne appears to have bragged about using media contacts to “destroy” a man’s career.

“Gimme a sec. I am just dealing with Nic McKenzie and about to destroy a guy’s career,” he said.

Text messages leaked on Monday also revealed Mr Byrne disparaging former Labor senator Sam Dastyari, former Labor leader Bill Shorten and Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews.

Labor leader Anthony Albanese on Thursday said he “counselled” Mr Byrne over his language but insisted he backed Mr Byrne to remain deputy chair of the parliamentary committee on intelligence and security.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison said “these are very serious implications”, adding it was “a test for Mr Albanese as to whether he thinks Mr Byrne should continue to serve on that committee”.

Even more corruption in Socialist Labor Empty
PostSubject: Re: Even more corruption in Socialist Labor   Even more corruption in Socialist Labor EmptyThu 18 Jun 2020, 3:48 pm

it seems some within the soiled fungus covered walls of the shattered Labor Party see it as hopeless and doomed to remain in Opposition for the next 3 years.

Expletive-laden texts plunge Labor Party into fresh turmoil
18/06/2020

The Labor Party has been plunged into fresh turmoil, after explosive texts from a federal MP were leaked to the media.

Labor leader Anthony Albanese sought assurances from Labor MP Anthony Byrne that he had not broken any laws after it was revealed his electorate office was bugged to record the backroom dealings of disgraced former Victorian minister Adem Somyurek.

In a sign of apparent retribution, text messages were leaked to the media showing Mr Byrne disparaging his Labor colleagues.

In a series of expletive-laden messages, Mr Byrne described former Labor Senator Sam Dastyari as “crooked” and “corrupt” and said former Labor leader Bill Shorten “makes me sick to my stomach with his ingratitude”.

Mr Byrne also wished for the “political death” of Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews and said he wanted former politician Alan Griffin's “head cut off”.

Labor leader Anthony Albanese addressed the scandal on Thursday morning, describing Mr Byrne’s language as “completely unacceptable and inappropriate”.

Mr Albanese said he “counselled” Mr Byrne on his language, but said he had no intention of stripping Mr Byrne of his deputy chair position on the parliament's Intelligence and Security Committee.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the scandal showed the Labor Party was “absolutely at war”.

“We’re fighting for jobs, while they’re fighting each other,” Mr Morrison said.

Is Dangerous Dan done for this time ?  Who is IBAC when he is at home ?

IBAC launches investigation into Labor branch-stacking scandal
By Noel Towell June 17, 2020 — 6.55pm

The Andrews government faces a full-blown anti-corruption investigation that could extend beyond the branch stacking scandal that has already seen three ministers depart the frontbench.

The independent Broad-Based Anti Corruption Commission (IBAC) confirmed on Wednesday that it had launched "Operation Fortescue" after the government referred the allegations of large-scale branch stacking and other corrupt conduct to the commission on Monday morning.

An investigation into the Labor party branch stacking allegations is now underway.

IBAC, whose investigators visited the home of disgraced former minister Adem Somyurek on Tuesday, confirmed it would examine "other matters" reported in the media as well as more complaints which it had received following Sunday night's explosive revelations aired by The Age and 60 Minutes.

"IBAC's Operation Fortescue will examine a range of matters concerning allegations of 'branch stacking', and other matters aired recently in media reports, and other related complaints made to IBAC," the commission said in a statement.

The Virus looks positively harmless compared to the flesh eating bacteria demolishing the wreckage of the Labor Party.

Victoria’s new ‘blood sport’— a Colosseum event!
AMM 18.06.20.

Even more corruption in Socialist Labor Colosseum

The now self-immolation or implosion, you might say, of the Labor Party, there is much identification of it as a spectacle long awaiting exposure and it sure is going to get it in spades—this will be an extravaganza best seen in a Colosseum.

In hindsight, I wished I had accomplished more from the membership of the Labor Party in the Bayswater, Frankston and Cranbourne branches that I didn’t know I held.

But credit where it’s due.

The Victorian Right showed itself to be a class act.

Not for them the ugly NSW Right model of cash piled into bacteria-laden Aldi bags.

No. A pristine blue manilla folder was the preferred vehicle for the carriage of some allegedly black folding stuff. One must maintain standards after all.

And now how about a bit of in depth analysis of the decline and fall of the Socialist Labor Party ?

This business in Victoria is looking more and more like a hatchet job by the Andrews faction to wipe out a rival faction in the Party. Their ‘fix’, no more pre-selection of candidates by the rank and file for three years, everything run by the Party-appointed administrators, Macklin and Bracks, (both with… shall we call them ‘debatable’ political pasts), is a stitch up worthy of the worst (to borrow a US analogy) Tammany Hall excesses.

Andrews and his cronies are willing to suffer a few bruises themselves to destroy their rivals within the Party.

Having said that, I cannot believe what politicians are willing to put into electronic ‘print’, knowing (Surely they know?) that NOTHING is private once you hit that ‘send’ button – and once sent, it never goes away.

One could be forgiven for thinking Byrne is a good guy and not the bottom feeding scum like those he sought to destroy. I know he’s still a politician which means he can’t be trusted but he has done the country a great service.

These events could be loosely likened to the theme of the book “power without glory.” You have to wonder why many politicians are corrupt, corrupt from the word go when they stand for office, for the people who promote them for office must know that they are corrupt and yet don’t do anything about it.

But how come the voters of Victoria (soon to be renamed Jabbawocky) are not up in arms? Is Andrews even a legitimate MP let alone Premier? After all, he is totally dependant on “the numbers”. I’d say Andrews was feeling some heat for his BRI deal and needed a distraction.

Labor’s woes: scenes from the Godfather?
AMM 18.06.20.

Labor MP Anthony Byrne discussed the possible ‘decapitation’ of an ALP colleague, savaged Bill Shorten, and wished for Daniel Andrews’s ‘political death’.

And that’s only the beginning and possibly heading for the end of Labor as they enjoyed it for decades. It seems that many onlookers might have misjudged the “meek and mild” persona of Andrew Byrne who appears to have viewed one too many episodes of the Godfather.

The federal Labor MP embroiled in the branch-stacking scandal discussed the possible “decapitation” of an ALP colleague, savaged Bill Shorten as a disloyal and ungrateful private schoolboy, and wished for Daniel Andrews’s “political death”.

Federal Labor MP Anthony Byrne also attacked one former NSW powerbroker as a “crooked, corrupt f..k’’ and dismissed his federal colleagues as lacking the “judgment, understanding and intelligence’’ of ousted Victorian minister Adem Somyurek.

'Crooked, corrupt': Explosive private text messages leaked as Labor scandal escalates
By Rob Harris June 17, 2020 — 8.49pm

Veteran federal Labor MP Anthony Byrne called former colleague Sam Dastyari a "crooked, corrupt f---" and labelled a female MP a "drunk" in dozens of text messages released by former party powerbroker Adem Somyurek as apparent political payback.

Mr Byrne, the deputy chair of Federal Parliament’s powerful intelligence committee, also called an unnamed female Labor activist a "ratf---er" and said he wanted to "piss on ... the corpse" of former Left faction heavyweight Alan Griffin.

The personal messages to Mr Somyurek also savaged former leader Bill Shorten, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews and retired Victorian federal MP Michael Danby.

The Age has seen a political document containing details of the private text between the pair, which were released after Mr Byrne told this masthead he had offered authorities his "full assistance" into their inquiries over industrial scale branch stacking in the Victorian ALP.

Body of 'corruption and cover-ups' points to a rotten head of Victorian Labor
16/06/2020

“The fish rots from the head down” and Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has overseen a “culture of cover-ups, branch-stacking and corruption” for the past 10 years, according to Sky News host Rita Panahi.

While Sky News contributor Nicholas Reece described the Victorian Premier’s response to the branch-stacking scandal as “nothing short of revolutionary,” Ms Panahi said “what would be revolutionary, would be for Dan Andrews to step down”.

“To lose three ministers in less than 24 hours shows this party is in absolute disarray,” she told Sky News host Paul Murray.

In 2018, Ombudsman Deborah Glass revealed the Andrews government misused public money amounting to $388,000 through an arrangement where staff for safe-seat MPs, were sent to work in marginal seats, even though electorate staff are not meant to be used for political work.

This “systematic rorting of taxpayer money” became known as the red shirt scandal, which ultimately “speaks of a culture that is rotten to the core,” Ms Panahi said.

Labor to review Labor: National executive takes over Victorian branch

Labor’s national executive is to step in to clean up the Victorian branch, taking over preselections and appointing two administrators.

Three frontbenchers have been forced out of the Victorian state cabinet over a branch-stacking and in-fighting scandal.

The national leadership is expected to decide at a Tuesday night video hookup to appoint former premier Steve Bracks and former federal minister Jenny Macklin as administrators to oversee the clean up until the end of January.

A draft resolution said all voting rights in the Victorian branch would be suspended until 2023 and federal and state preselections would be run by the national executive.

“I have no confidence in the integrity of any voting rolls produced for any internal elections in the Victorian branch,” Premier Daniel Andrews wrote to the executive.

“Accordingly, we must suspend those elections and begin a long and critical process of validating each and every member of the Labor Party in Victoria as genuine, consenting and self-funded.”

An initial report on new integrity measures would be due in July while a final report would be submitted in November.

Smile as you read on how Labor is already losing the next election.

The stench of the corruption embroiling Labor will linger on until the state and federal elections when ScoMo will triumph and dangerous Dan will disappear.

This is another nail in the coffin of public trust
June 16, 2020 — 12.00am

The story on Adem Somyurek reveals an astonishing and disheartening level of megalomania that has been allowed to go unchallenged within the Victorian Labor Party. Was there really no one in the Labor Party with a principled spine to call out this rancid anti-democratic behaviour?

This is yet another nail in the coffin for public trust in government when democracy desperately needs the trust of our politicians to repel the rise of populist and charismatic charlatans. All of the major parties must reverse the increasing trend of selecting candidates and employing advisers and staff from a limited gene pool of vested self-interest over and above serving in the public interest. Paul Miller, Box Hill South

'Participatory democracy' promise laid bare

Well, now we have it. Adem Somyurek as minister for local government promised to bring "participatory democracy" to our local councils with his recently enacted review of the Local Government Act.

It was nonsense, of course, as his mandating of single-councillor wards was calculated to shore up the electoral prospects of major party candidates, including his own, against all other comers in council elections. However, it was nowhere near as efficient as his now-exposed antics within the ALP, where he has effectively purchased the votes of large numbers of ALP members to the point where the Victorian branch operates under his direction.

Ian Hundley, Balwyn North
Is this what the party is really like?
Your editorial is right ("Labor must expel stacker Somyurek", The Age, 15/6). And with him should go that egregious aspect of the recently enacted Local Government Act that requires all councils to change to single-member wards. It is just a ploy to enshrine power with the Labor and Liberal duopoly, shutting out smaller parties and independents.

Was this Somyurek's brainchild or does it reveal what Labor is really like when you look under the bonnet?

Fallout after removal of foul-mouthed Labor power broker Adem Somyurek set to linger

Despite Daniel Andrews' swift action to dispose of Adem Somyurek, the Upper House MP is set to remain a headache for the Victorian Premier for some time to come.(AAP: Alex Murray/Julian Smith)

After a summer of bushfires and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews now finds himself dealing with a disaster in his own political backyard.

Andrews yesterday promptly sacked Upper House MP Adem Somyurek from his Cabinet post after the Nine Network aired derogatory comments Somyurek made about Gabrielle Williams, the Minister in charge of boosting respect and safety for women.

Somyurek also stands accused of industrial-scale branch stacking, and the use of ministerial staff for factional activities, which he denies.

As far as political executions go, this was swift and well-orchestrated.

It has also cost Somyurek's factional ally a senior role, with Assistant Treasurer Robin Scott resigning from Cabinet saying he would clear his name citing the political favourite that he did not want to be a "distraction" for the Government.
