And why wouldn't they as there is NO legal cost to them and they have nothing to lose.

The legal mob want to set a legal precedent to open the floodgates for lots of extra work for the legal eagles.

The difficult with any indigenous thing is trying to establish what is truth and what is fiction as the indigenous are very good at inventing "history" to suit their purpose.

As the indigenous NEVER produced any written documents of their history they are free to make it up to suit whatever the current purpose is. So the lies flow freely.

More than 1600 register for ‘stolen wages’ class action against WA government

More than 1600 indigenous people, many of whom were taken from their families as children, have so far registered their interest in a class action against the West Australian government over allegedly stolen wages.
The legal action, lodged with the Federal Court this week through Shine Lawyers, is being funded through Litigation Lending Services Limited, which last year settled a similar case with the Queensland government for $190 million.
LLS non-executive director Nyunggai Warren Mundine said during the Aboriginal protection era, many indigenous Australians worked hard but were never paid their wages.
“The moneys owed to them was paid to the Protector of Aborigines in each state,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The recovery of wages earned by indigenous Australians, but never paid to them, is a major area of unfinished business.
“A scheme set up by the WA government returned to them only a few thousand dollars each for a lifetime’s work. It was an insult.”

Wonder where the proof is ?   And the reliable witnesses ?  It is worth a go as the indigenous get free legal aid.

Indigenous workers file class action against WA government over wages

Indigenous children who were snatched from their families and forced to work in “harsh conditions akin to slavery” are part of a class action against the WA government aimed at recovering allegedly stolen wages.
Ron Harrington-Smith was four years old when he was taken from his mother in 1949 to work at the Mount Margaret mission to service gold mines.
“I can vividly remember, I couldn’t stop myself from crying,” he said in a media statement.
His duties included chopping and carting wood to missionaries, marshalling livestock and emptying toilet pans down a mineshaft.
“All of this was barefoot and in squalid conditions,” Mr Harrington-Smith said.
“They might have given us some tucker, like spuds and onions, but we never got paid.
“It was a hard life in drought-stricken country, and then when I chased the station owners around for my pay, they would say they couldn’t pay me and they blamed the government.”
Mr Harrington-Smith said the state government was at fault for taking children inhumanely.
“They snatched us as children and they had no mercy for us,” he said.
