‘Heaviest rain in months’ forecast as expected low pressure system deepens

FORECASTERS have upped their warnings of combined rain events due to hit both eastern and Western Australia saying it could lead to the heaviest downpours in months.

Some inland areas of New South Wales could see more rain than at any other point in 2018 so far.

Sydney, which just days ago had been forecast to get a not-to-be-sniffed at half a month’s rain leading into the weekend, can now expect the gauge to register far in excess of the monthly average rainfall in just a 72 hour stretch. Almost 100mm could fall on the Harbour City.

Brisbane and the Gold Coast could also be sodden in the coming days with rain for Perth and Canberra. But it’s good news for Melbourne, Adelaide and Hobart which should escape the worst of the weather.

Apparently Vic has had its driest september in 100 years...

Interesting when they keep saying stuff like that because that means that 100 years ago before all the carbon crap and AGW crap and climate change crap it happened before.

gee I wonder why? oops

No rain here although we had about 3 drops the other day, hardly enough to wet the road/path or water the garden/lawn.

I had the lawnman come on Saturday, the "lawn" wasn't really needing mowing but a few patches of grass were looking bit untidy.

Warming up though, currently 24C and it is only almost 5 pm.

It has been hot here, 38C one day and 35C the next, then another 30+. Normally it cools right down over night by at least 20 degrees but not this time. I woke in the middle of the night and was still 24C.

Also Hay Fever Season here and I am suffering.  Heat, Hay Fever and COPD ... not good.

Melbourne had a very damp Melbourne Cup Day. When I lived down there I used to take a brolly to work every day, regardless of the weather forecast. grin
